Fantastic battles in prospect as teams eye glory

Tim Hirst is presented with the Huddersfield services to Joe Lumb Cup award by team manager Roger Peaker. The award is in memory of Keith Parry, who worked for many years in junior cricket and with the Joe Lumb Cup side. Hirst has scored for many years and is the first recipient of the new award

Hoylandswaine Seconds, who will play in the Conference with first teams next season, won Drakes Premiership Two last weekend when Almondbury Wesleyan played an ineligible player against them.

Because of Cawthorne’s withdrawal from the league, Swaine’s elevation to the first teams will leave a 12-team Drakes Premiership Two in 2019.

Slaithwaite and Cumberworth are down and will be replaced by Golcar and Delph from the Jedi Sports Championship Two – but the title has still to be decided with Delph just five points adrift of the leaders.

Golcar are at home to Moorlands this weekend, while Delph must take six points at home to Shepley.

Rastrick and Holmfirth are relegated and will be replaced by Mirfield Parish and Thongsbridge from Cedar Court Conference Two – but again the title is still to be decided as they are separated by only a point.

Mirfield Parish are at home to Lepton while Thongsbridge visit Hall Bower.

Thurstonland are relegated to Cedar Court Conference Three and will be joined by either Almondbury or Emley, who are tied on 43 points.
