THE Brockholes Open Pairs will be held on Sunday.

And the draw has been made for the preliminar­y round and first round.

Birmingham duo Greg Smith and Elliot McGuinness were the latest qualifiers in the £5,300 Brighouse Classic sponsored by Damart.

Smith defeated Neil Simpson (Shipley) 21-18 to qualify and McGuinness beat Jon Edmondson (Pudsey) 21-7.

Qualifying continues tomorrow with the final heat.

Latest qualifiers to intermedia­te stage of the Mirfield Old Bank Autumn Double are Kevin Nixon and Mark Booth (Doncaster), who beat Matt KellyWalle­y and Conor Chamberlai­n (Burton) 61-59.

Also through are Thomas Boyd and Chris Brown (Doncaster), who beat Andy White and Noel Burrows (Manchester) 58-48.

Intermedia­te stages start next week.

Semi finals and final: Monday October 1 (7pm). MARSH Liberal Club are the new Huddersfie­ld Junior Team Knockout champions.

They defeated last year’s winners Alnmondbur­y Liberal Club 138–102 in the final sponsored by Mark Sykes and Janine Daykin at Golcar Lib.

Junior Secretary, Geoff Martin, presented the Trophy to a delighted Marsh Liberal Club manager Julie Robson, who had waited six years for their first ever trophy.

Geoff thanked Golcar Liberal Club for hosting the event and Mrs Norma Maxwell for refereeing.

Yorkshire Juniors had a warm-up game against the senior Yorkshire County Ladies team at Almondbury BC, playing for Eddie Swaine Memorial Trophy.

It was in preparatio­n for their BCGBA national team final against Warwick and Worcester.

The Yorkshire Juniors just held on for a 211-204 win, with Aarron Brine and Nathan Dobson both winning 21-6.
