Binmen should not be bullied into strike action

-

Peter Shilton former goalkeeper/ football manager, John Aldridge, former football manager and TV pundit, John Fashanu, TV presenter and former footballer, Darren Gough, former cricketer, Jada Pinkett Smith actress/singer, James Marsden, actor, Sol Campbell, footballer, Dizzee Rascal, singer/rapper, I AM appealing to the binmen not to go on strike as your union leader is wanting you to do.

You will lose pay by doing this and if we are to believe the figures published in the Examiner you are not overpaid as it is.

When I was working (I’m retired) I belonged to a union but never came out on strike.

Why? Because I would have been hitting the public and they couldn’t give us what we were asking for.

And always, when I went through the picket line, other people followed.

The binmen say their rounds are too big. On bin day where I live I see at least seven refuse wagons pass my house.

One stops and empties the bins. The others appear to go round and round until clocking off time.

Don’t be bullied into striking by Paul Holmes.

Talk to the council leaders to get a fairer deal. THE ease with which two suspected Russian GRU ‘hitmen’ entered this country, administered a deadly nerve agent and are now nicely tucked up back in Moscow, shows how secure this country’s borders actually are and begs the question, who else is here, who else has just ‘simply walked in’?

Amongst others, border control was the main reason that everyone that I have spoken to, elected to leave the EU.

Sort that out and I feel that many would change their vote, should there be another referendum. SERENA Williams has been a great advocate for women’s tennis, and when she was beating players regularly she also had a kind word for her opponents.

Now that her powers are on the wane she is becoming a bad loser. I for one am sick and tired of the lack of respect that some of our overpaid stars have towards referees and umpires, they are damaging their respective sports.

Serena Williams is supposed to be a fan of the late soul singer Aretha Franklin so it’s time she and her ilk showed a little ‘respect.’
