We know what it takestostay in this league

-

WE have had a tough start, but the players have given everything.

And I would say in the last few games we have put in some really good performances.

It is what it is, we knew it was going to be a tough start.

Last year we got off to a flier, this year we’ve had some world-class teams to play against – some real top opposition to play.

The thing is, we know where we are, we know what to do and we know what it takes to stay in this league – and the players and staff are all clearly focused on that. I DON’T like to look at minuses, just positives.

Those are that we have improved the squad with talent, we have the ability to play a different system – which the players are getting better at all the time – and the players are more experienced.

We have had a year in the Premier League and, all together, players and staff, we are more experienced.

So we have to keep being brave, keep following what the manager wants us to do and stick to our principles and we will be okay. (Wilfried Zaha) who produced some magic.

I worked with Wilf and he is world class, a special talent. We could have defended it a bit better, but it’s gone now, it’s forgotten and we are looking forward to Leicester. THE mood is tops. The spirit is never, ever, down here. The players get paid, and we get paid as a staff, to do the best job in the world. It’s a big thing, but no-one ever comes into this club unhappy. They are really happy and focused. A lot of people say your confidence and spirits must be down because of the results, but that’s rubbish. We create the mood and we create the environment – and it is always top class. The players are brilliant, the staff are brilliant and the manager leads from the top with his attitude and that flows right through the club. The energy and the feeling here is always good.

The spirit is never, ever down here. The players are really happy and focused
