Top restaurant will cater at Narnia ball hospice fundraiser
THE Venue, in Barkisland, is set to be transformed into a Narnia-inspired set for one night only, in aid of Kirkwood Hospice’s annual charity ball.
The black-tie event, sponsored by Holmfirth Dyers, takes place on Saturday, November 10, and the people of Kirklees are now being invited to purchase their tickets.
Guests will step foot into the professionallystaged venue through a The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe-style coat-filled cupboard, before being treated to an evening of entertainment.
On arrival, reception drinks will be served, followed by a four-course dinner prepared by Eric Paxman, of Eric’s Restaurant in Lindley – the official caterer of The Venue.
A saxophonist is set to perform dance songs with her distinctive light up saxophone, followed by music from a band.
A ‘Grand Auction’ and other fundraisers will also take place during the evening.
Hospice spokesman Kate Leadbeater said: “This will most definitely be an immersive event, which is being designed to ‘wow’ our guests. Our annual ball is always a night to remember, but this year we’re going bigger and better with the theme.
“Having Eric’s – as an established name in Huddersfield – as the caterer is amazing, and the saxophonist is incredible.
“She’s a tough act to book as she’s so in demand, so we’re excited for our guests to be entertained by her. What happens in Narnia, stays in Narnia, we say!”
Tickets are priced at £59 per person and can be purchased individually or in tables of eight, 10 or 12.
