Ricky Tomlinson actor, Ian Chappell, former cricketer, Anne Robinson, TV presenter, Bryan Ferry, singer, Olivia NewtonJohn singer, Linda Hamilton, actress, Tracey Thorn, singer

Lysette Anthony, actress, Williams, tennis player, PICTURE a sold out Lawrence Batley Theatre audience, a scene full of festive spirit, a pantomime full of slapstick comedy, choreographed confusion, yes you guessed Unison and Kirklees Council playing two “Ugly Sister’s” in Cinderella.

Far from humorous, the local ratepayers find it offensive, farcical, painstakingly played out over the last year. entitlements being allowed to roll over indefinitely. What about your readers?

In the main, either days must be taken before the end of a year, otherwise you lose them, or work and be paid any holidays not taken at the standard rate at the end of the year.

Morale must be rock bottom among the workforce and probably management, greatly affecting performance and productivity.

How many man hours have been spent talking about this whole issue?

This would not happen in well run private businesses. It couldn’t, man hours have to be productive, a profit has to be made. You have a bank manager looking over your shoulder unlike Unison and Kirklees Council who seem happy to let this sorry saga drag on.

A change of the key negotiators on either party may be more productive, please bring this sorry saga to an end. BARBARA Rushforth (letters Examiner Sept 18th) may be well meaning with her letter but seems to have missed the truth.

It is not Paul Holmes doing the bullying, but Kirklees Council. I WAS sorry to read about the difficulties experienced by Miss S Barrowclough regarding hospital appointments.

The experience I had during the last two weeks have been excellent, my doctor made me an urgent appointment when I made a visit.

I was given a time and date there and then, a confirmation was then sent by post, and today I received a telephone call confirming once again, and asking me if I was going to attend.

I would point out many years ago I worked at HRI and one of my duties was to make appointments.

There were problems such as patients not attending, and many other problems; for example, patients going to the wrong hospital.
