Wilson delighted to add Rastrick title to superb CV

LOWER Hopton’s Graeme Wilson bowled superbly to lift the £1,000 first prize in the Rastrick Classic.

In the final, Wilson defeated Chris Kelly of Thongsbrid­ge and South Yorkshire 21-15.

Wilson beat Steven Gilroy of Crossgates to 16 in the semi-finals, after toppling Gareth Coates 21-19 in the last eight.

The finals were under serious doubt of taking place due to heavy rain over the previous few days which had caused severe flooding of the green at Rastrick.

But a crowd or around 200 witnessed some excellent bowling.
