City expect fit Aguero

-

SERGIO Aguero is expected to be fit for Manchester City’s Champions League Group F fixture at Hoffenheim tonight.

The Argentina striker played just over an hour against Brighton on Saturday because of the foot problem that has hampered him in recent games but he has trained and was fit to travel.

Benjamin Mendy (foot) is still missing and usual deputy at left-back, Fabian Delph, also has a knock, meaning Oleksandr Zinchenko is again likely to feature.

Playmaker Kevin de Bruyne (knee) is back in training but not yet ready to return, while goalkeeper Claudio Bravo (Achilles) is out long term. HUDDERSFIELD TOWN’S Ramadan Sobhi was spotted with Mo Salah in Manchester yesterday.

The winger met up with the Liverpool and fellow Egypt star for a meeting at the Lowry Hotel, which is where Manchester United’s players were also staying ahead of their Champions League match with Valencia tonight.

Sobhi, 21, is currently out of action for Town through injury, but is expected to be back in action for the Terriers after the international break, handing boss David Wagner a much-needed boost.

United players were also at the hotel yesterday for their regular pre-match meeting, but were there at a different time than Salah and Sobhi.

Reds boss Jose Mourinho has been living at the five-star Lowry since his appointment at United in 2016.

The Portugese manager bought and sold Salah during a disappointing spell at Chelsea, but the Egyptian went on to score 34 times for Roma before moving to Liverpool last summer.

There is no suggestion that there is any connection between Salah and Sobhi’s visit to the Lowry and United’s frequent use of the hotel.

Manchester’s convenient location between Liverpool and Huddersfield for Salah and Sobhi could be a more likely explanation for their meeting.

Salah had an unstoppable season last term, scoring 44 goals in all competitions for Liverpool and helping them reach the final of the Champions League.

This term, he has struggled to recreate that form, but has still managed three goals in nine appearances.
