What a disgrace to reprimand him.

What did you expect him to do? There are no public toilets anywhere around Milnsbridge, Golcar or that side of town.

The people that should be apologising are the Kirklees councillors for closing our once valued public toilets.

Having been a road sweeper myself for 18 years, when there were toilets in every village, this wasn’t a problem.

The council worker found himself in a no-win situation.

He could have jumped back in his wagon and driven to Holmfirth toilets, Vine Street depot on Leeds Road or Flint Street at Fartown, which would have taken at least an hour.

So actually he did the council a favour, but somebody with too much time on their hands, decided to take a photo, pity they had ‘nowt’ better to do.

This toilet situation is a big problem for workers.

So in this situation he had two choices, side of the wagon or wet trousers for the rest of the day (What would you do?). WHEN I was a young girl I went to see the film Whistle Down The Wind and recently, as a fan of musical theatre, I went to Longwood Mechanics Hall to see the musical version of this story.

What a show it turned out to be, with some outstanding performances by people I have seen before, and also many new young faces who gave us some beautiful and moving moments.

From the strong character and voice of Martin Stead to the beautiful and moving voice of a young lady called Charlotte Sowerby we were fully entertained. The whole cast played their part in a very enjoyable show and I was impressed by a junior chorus who had wonderful singing voices. It was lovely to see so much talent that I am sure will be the future of musical theatre in Huddersfield.

Well done Longwood Amateur Operatic Society, you should all be very proud of yourselves for giving a full audience a really good night out. Thank you.
