-

THERE were more than 15 entries for the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise of the Year (up to 20 employees) category – sponsored by Vizulate Digital.

But making the final three are The fm Company UK Ltd, Paragon Oak Ltd and Towndoor Limited.

The fm Company UK Ltd is based at Aspley Business Park and currently employs a workforce of 11.

Starting out in 2015, the firm – run by managing director Tony Goldstein – provide security and facilities services to other companies.

They are proud of their Huddersfield heritage and actively encourage companies across Kirklees to work together and support the micro-econony within the region.

In their entry they said: “We’re grateful for what we have achieved so far, and that makes us hungry to keep improving.

“The more we grow, the more local subcontractors grow with us, and the more local staff we will take on.”

Towndoor Ltd, based at Meltham Mills in Holmfirth, is a family-owned commercial property specialist set up in 1988 by current managing director Dan Bamforth’s parents.

They employ 11 people and over the last 12 months have worked on two major projects – the construction of a new nursery on the former Big Valley Garage site and a redevelopment of Meltham Mills.

In their submission they said: “We believe that if all our tenants needs are met and fulfilled then they will never need to leave us!

“Building rapport with tenants is what we strive to do.

“We feel if we have this approach then our business will stand out from the others.”
