Details of the creditors of Elenor Rose Bridal Limited are contained in documents submitted to Companies House by Bernadette Dagg, a former director.

The estimated debt was put at £82,090, with creditors owed just over £62,000.

A total of 13 creditors are named in the documents and include HM Revenue & Customs who are owned £18,000 and Kirklees Council who are owed £1,000.

The largest creditor was shareholder Bernadette Dagg who is owed £25,000. The shop’s former owner, Lynette Blythe, is not listed among the creditors. She ceased to be a director of the firm on September 14.

Several private companies are listed among the creditors including a firm of accountants and an insurance company. The bridal shop, which went into liquidation in September, had assets – furniture, equipment and dress stock – estimated to be worth around £8,500, according to the documents.

An auction of furniture, equipment and dresses was held last month, organised by the liquidator’s agent, Walker Singleton in Huddersfield. Bridal gowns sold for up to £350 each, although some dresses remained unsold.

The total amount raised from the online auction is thought to have exceeded £10,000.

This money goes to the liquidator whose job is to deal with creditors. Secured creditors such as banks are given preference when it comes to getting money back.

Shareholders and unsecured creditors are unlikely to get anything.

In September several brides-to-be contacted the Examiner in panic after the shop closed.

Some were left without gowns just days before their big day.
