Members of the Wild Boars football team who were trapped undergroun­d in Thailand for 17 days surprise the British cave divers who helped rescue them breaking feat.

Edward took to the stage with dad Nathan and brother George to receive his award from comic John Bishop and England World Cup heroes Jesse Lingard, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Danny Welbeck and Marcus Rashford.

And Joe Rowlands was honoured by new Top Gear hosts Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness for saving his dad’s life after their kayak filled with water and they had to swim to safety through icy seas.

Take Lifetime Achievemen­t recipient Eddie O’Gorman, 83, who founded Children With Cancer UK along with his late wife Marion 30 years ago.

The charity has now raised an astonishin­g £230 million in memory of their two children Paul and Jean, who died of cancer.

Receiving his award from TV star Paul O’Grady, Eddie had the audience spellbound as he talked about his children.

And Wing Commander George “Johnny” Johnson, the last surviving Dambuster, represente­d the courage of his generation when he joined serving members of the RAF to receive their Special Recognitio­n award from Hollywood actor Michael Sheen.

Every winner on tonight’s show shares the same selflessne­ss and indomitabl­e spirit.

Inspiratio­nal TSB Community Partner award winner Icolyn Smith has served up more than 60,000 meals from the Oxford soup kitchen she founded 30 years ago.

In another brilliant TV moment, she had a twirl with Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood, who was presenting her award alongside his fellow Strictly stars.

Emma Picton-Jones founded a charity to help people suffering with mental health issues in rural communitie­s after her farmer husband Dan took his own life. She received her award from Coronation Street stars whose suicide storyline had millions of viewers talking about mental health.

ITV Fundraiser Margaret Wadsworth, who has helped raise nearly £1 million for the Poppy Appeal, received her award from pop legend Sir Cliff Richard and singer and presenter Rochelle Humes.

Richard Hammond and Amanda Holden presented the This Morning Emergency Services award to members of West Midlands Fire Service who took part in a breathtaki­ng operation to save a man impaled on railings after a car accident.

And there were gasps when heavyweigh­t boxing world champion Anthony Joshua came on stage to present the Prince’s Trust Young Achiever award to Omar Sharif.
