Return of the Tipi
The 2018 festival will run from Friday, November 30 to New Years’ Eve.
The teepee will be open between 11am and 9pm, every day from Wednesday to Sunday each week.
Inside, visitors will find roaring fires, cosy seating areas and freshlycooked food to counter the wintry town centre conditions.
For further festive warmth there will also be a fully licensed bar serving mulled wine, real ales, cider, Prosecco, warming spirits and a range of soft drinks including hot chocolate and pop.
Outside the tent, guests can discover a different food trader each week and they will be allowed to bring their food inside to eat it by the fire.
Returning for their second year at the festival will be confirmed caterers Bubble Box and Greek Street Food. Like last year, live local musicians will provide entertainment throughout the festival.
Returning West Yorkshire singer Alexandra Carlos, who also played at Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival earlier this year, is due to perform at 7.30pm on Wednesday, December 20.
More acts will be announced closer to the date.
Local businesses can get involved in Huddersfield Winter Festival by joining the festival’s Advent Family.
Huddersfield Live co-director Poppy Stahelin said: “As a not-forprofit organisation, we’re always on the lookout for local businesses to partner with us in bringing this unique experience to Huddersfield, which also boosts the local economy and brings people into our town.
“We are offering 24 local companies the chance to become part of the Huddersfield Winter Festival Advent Family.
“We can offer bespoke sponsorship packages that can be tailored to their exacting requirements, but could include the use of our teepees for a unique meeting venue and promotion of your company through advertising in St George’s Square and publicity via social media.”
