Four men confront boy in his own home

A SCHOOLBOY was confronted by four men who broke into his home – and a 90-year-old man had £250 stolen from his trouser pocket.

West Yorkshire Police said the 12-year-old boy was sitting in the living room when four young Asian men broke into the house by snapping a Euro profile rear door lock.

The suspects fled when they were seen by the boy and nothing was stolen.

The exact location and day of the break-in has not been disclosed, although it was disclosed to Neighbourh­ood Watch members in the Greenhead area of Huddersfie­ld.

In an unrelated incident, the 90-year-old man, who lived alone, had the money stolen in Lindley. No more details have been disclosed.

Here are more crimes which have been reported to West Yorkshire Police:

October 31 at 9pm: The owner of a new iPhone 8 who advertised it on Gumtree had it stolen when the ‘buyer’ met them in the Penistone Road area of Fenay Bridge. The suspect asked if it was pin locked or attached to a tracking device and, when told no, fled on foot with the phone.

November 2 at 1.30am: Wheels and tyres were stolen from a garden on South Royd, Almondbury.

October 29 at 11pm: A burglary took place at a house on Keldregate at Bradley. Nothing was taken.

October 31 at 2pm: A thief drilled three holes in the fuel tank of a Vauxhall Mokka in order to steal fuel valued at around £20. The car was parked on Lower Grange, Bradley.

October 31 at 6.35pm: Suspects kicked in a door at a house on Priory Place at Bradley but then ran off when the victim appeared at the door.

October 28 at 6pm: A Piaggio NRG scooter parked on Manchester Road at Slaithwait­e was stolen after the securing chain and lock were damaged.

November 2 at 8pm: A thief snapped a Euro profile lock on a front door on Yews Hill Road. The suspect searched cupboards but nothing was taken.

October 28 at 4.15pm: A thief stole two packets of cigarettes, a purse and a rose gold iPad from a house on Elmfield Avenue.

October 28 at 9am: A resident in a shared property at the Buddhist Centre had money stolen from her purse which was in her room.

October 28 at 11.02am: A Ford Focus car parked outside a shop on Bradford Road at Fartown was stolen when the owner left the keys in the ignition.

October 25 at 7.50am: Thieves removed metal gates at a large detached house on Slaithwait­e Road, Meltham, and then tried to steal flag stones. They were disturbed by the owner and left.

October 26 at 6pm: Multiple power tools were taken from a Ford Transit van on New Mill Road, Honley. A device may have been used to enter the van.

October 30 at 4.30pm: A generator was stolen from business premises on New Mill Road at Holmfirth after a fence was pulled down and panes of glass smashed in a door.

The following crimes were reported but the victims asked for some details not to be made public:

Police received a report of damage to a fence, thought to be part of ongoing anti-social behaviour.

A thief used a tool to cut through a door panel of a VW Transporte­r in an attempt to steal tools. The suspects left after the alarm sounded.

A house was broken into and multiple items of clothing were stolen.

A Mitsubishi L200 was stolen after it was parked on the road.

Police say a locked and secure Ford Transit was stolen.

October 28 at 8.35pm: A thief broke a window at business premises on Halifax Road, Edgerton. A search was made but it’s not known if anything was taken.

The following crimes were reported but the victims asked for the details not to be made public:

Suspects stole £250 from the trouser pocket of a 90-year-old man living alone in the Lindley area. The suspects attended the address on different occasions and were granted entry. A tin containing cash was also taken.

A group of three to five suspects stole three sets of car keys from a house after breaking in through the back door. They then stole three cars using the keys.

October 31 at 2pm: A burglar snapped a front door lock at a house on Lockwood Road at Lockwood. Damage was caused to items in the house during an untidy search.

November 4 at 10am: A thief stolen an MG ZT car from Bishops Court, Berry Brow.
