Home care company continues to grow

As part of this, Caremark is now stepping up its recruitmen­t campaign.

Mr Smith added: “We are busy recruiting new home care and support workers which will enable us to maintain our growth through the rest of the year and into 2019.

“This is one of the reasons why we have extended our head office, so we now also have a large, dedicated training room where staff can receive all the training they need to ensure the care we provide is second to none.

“Although zero hour contracts do still appeal to some people, by offering fixed hour contracts we hope this will attract even more people, whether they have previous care experience or not, and we are particular­ly keen to emphasise that caring should be seen as a career, and not just a job.” OUR Huddersfie­ld businesses have been announced as headline sponsors of an annual fundraisin­g event that will count Olympic diving champions Lois Tolson and Jack Laugher MBE as special guests.

The Design Bank, Aura Print, Jigsaw Commercial and Matthew Bloxome, of Sovereign Wealth Huddersfie­ld, will sponsor the annual ‘Music Extravagan­za’, organised by Cleckheato­n-based HR and employment law firm, Howarths.

Tolson and Laugher MBE will attend the event – on November 24 at the Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfie­ld – in their capacity as ambassador­s for The Howarth Foundation charity.

Last year the event raised over £7,500 for the independen­t charity which supports homeless and recently rehomed people across Leeds and Kirklees back into employment.

It’s Business Building Futures RUCK hire specialist­s Mac’s Truck Rental is celebratin­g after being shortliste­d for Rental, Leasing and Contract Hire Provider of the Year.

In fact, the Lindley Moorbased firm is the only business from the North of England to be shortliste­d.

With this nomination coming in only their third year of trading, this is the icing on top of a stellar year for Mac’s Truck Rental. Their huge growth has resulted in new staff members, alongside an expansion into custom-built premises.

Head of rentals Selena programme works with a network of regional homeless charities to identify individual­s ready to re-enter full or part-time employment across Leeds and Kirklees, providing them with skills training or employment through local businesses signed up to the scheme.

This year’s event will feature performanc­es from music act Under the Covers, magician Darren Mac and the Rastrick High School choir.

We’re very proud of our roots and have strong ties to Yorkshire, where Mac’s Trucks is almost a household name following my father founding local businesses on board as headline sponsors for this year’s Extravagan­za.

“As the event marks its fourth year, support from businesses such as these is invaluable in helping us fulfil the Foundation’s mission to get people off the streets, back on track and making a positive contributi­on to society through steady employment or training.”

Earlier this year, The Howarth Foundation, was crowned winner of the Big Heart charity category at the 2018 National Family Business Awards at Wembley Arena. Mac’s Truck Sales more than 30 years ago.

“A huge congratula­tions must also go to his team, who are also nominated for three Commercial Motor Awards.”

Selena added: “The success wouldn’t have been possible without our fantastic clients, and I’d like to place on record my thanks to them. We truly aim to provide them with best service and trucks on the market, and this award nomination recognises that.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 15 at the Vox Centre, Birmingham.
