Nurse has previous over Middleton’s Taylor (19-1), dropping him once en route to a ten-round unanimous decision back in April 2015.

Since then, Taylor has gone to win all of his proceedings eight bouts, with the last five finishing inside the distance.

Nurse said: “I’m not taking a great deal from my previous win over Liam. I dropped him twice, although the referee only called one, and both times he was down with left hooks to the body so obviously that’s something that you’re going to remember.

“Since he boxed me, he hasn’t fought anyone with a winning record. Having previously boxed him, I didn’t think he was strong or hit hard then and I can’t see how much he’s improved on that since.

“Having said all that, I’m going to show up expecting the hardest fight of my career.”

London’s Johnny Garton (23-1-1) won the vacant British title against last month and awaits the winner of tomorrow’s bout.

“Garton held it together better come the end of the fight and looked sharper and more composed,” he added. “But, I’m more than confident that, when I beat Taylor, I can beat Garton and bring the British title back to Huddersfield.
