HIBDEN Hall is opening its doors for the annual Winter Craft Fair on Saturday and Sunday (November 17 and 18). The historic hall has been closed to the public since September while filming for the upcoming BBC and HBO series, Gentleman Jack, has been taking place.

Shibden won’t fully reopen to visitors until March 2019, but it will open especially on the weekend of the Winter Craft Fair. Stalls will fill the rooms of the hall with a selection of local crafts and produce on sale in time for Christmas shopping.

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhood Services, Clr Susan Press, said: “Now in its 16th year, the annual craft fair at Shibden Hall brings together a great selection of different crafts and local produce. It always has a wonderfully festive feel and it’s a great place to get your Christmas shopping well underway.

“The event will be extra special this year as the hall has been closed for much of the year to allow filming for the new Gentleman Jack series. The weekend of the fair will be a chance to visit Shibden before the series hits the small screen next year.”

Products on offer will include locally produced pickles and preserves, unique artwork, handcrafted jewellery, leather goods and much more.

Over the weekend, there will also be the reduced admission price to Shibden of £3, with concessions £2.50 (Shibden Annual Pass holders go free), so visitors can enjoy the fair and the historic hall for a bargain price.

The fair runs from 10am-4pm both days. For more information go to www.calderdale.gov. uk/museums or follow @ShibdenHall on Twitter.
