British classics at end-of-season auction
A SERIES of rare British classics will be on offer at Classic Car Auctions’ season finale on 1st December at the Warwickshire Event Centre.
Highlights of the December Sale include a 1969 Jensen Interceptor MK1 (pictured), a fully restored 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II and a trio of classic Triumph sports cars.
The 1969 Jensen Interceptor MK1 is estimated at £36,000 to £40,000. Following 30 years in storage it was restored in Metallic Fawn with Champagne leather.
The original matching numbers engine has an upgraded Holley carburettor and retains its original 727 transmission. Fitted with period alloys, vinyl roof and period wood steering wheel, the Jensen has covered just over 60,000 miles.
The biggest name in luxury cars is Rolls-Royce and the 1980 RollsRoyce Wraith II on offer in the sale has been the subject of a no expense spared restoration, both mechanically and electrically, since 2015. Estimated at £24,000 to £28,000 the Wraith is finished in Peacock Blue with a matching Everflex roof and Magnolia leather interior piped in blue.
The first in a trio of Triumph sports cars in the sale is a 1967 Triumph TR4A (Overdrive). The TR4A had a bare metal respray in its current shade of black as part of a thorough mechanical and body restoration in 2013.
During this time the engine was overhauled and upgraded and with just 21,600 miles is estimated at £23,000 to £26,000
The sale will also see a 1968 Triumph TR5 estimated at £35,000 to £40,000 on offer.
Carefully looked after during the last 11 years of ownership, the TR5 has had a full body respray in Old English White with the engine, clutch, gearbox, steering, suspension and brakes all completely overhauled.
It has also had its bumpers and over riders re-chromed.
To complete the Triumph trio is a 1974 Triumph TR6 O/D, which was one of the original factory press department road test cars.
In Mimosa Yellow with a black hood and interior, the TR6 has been family owned for the past 15 years.
Estimated at £20,000 to £25,000, the car was featured in Thoroughbred and Classic magazine in January 1975.
