-

Moor, exerted ‘power and control over young girls’ and described him as ‘manipulative’ and ‘predatory.’

He is serving his sentence in HMP Doncaster, a Category B men’s prison in South Yorkshire, and he will not be eligible to apply for release from prison until April 14, 2036, when he will be 53 years old.

The Examiner can reveal that the appeal is one of at least three that have been lodged on behalf of the gang members.

The appeals were sent to a judge on November 14 and he or she will have up to six weeks to consider the applications.

Dhaliwal’s close friend Zahid Hassan, who was convicted of 14 offences and jailed for 18 years, is also appealing his convictions.

Known as Little Manny, the takeaway worker began raping younger girls and his peers when he was around 16 years old.

He also abused two other girls in what was described by a judge as a ‘campaign of rape and other sexual offending.’

Prosecutor Richard Wright QC said: “He was himself responsible for raping and abusing the girls, helped to groom them and also trafficked them so that other men could have sex with them.”

The 29-year-old was convicted of: six counts of rape; three of which were of a child under 13; two counts of abduction of a child; two counts of supplying a controlled drug of Class A; one count of sexual assault; one count of trafficking for sexual exploitation; one count of attempted rape and; one count of racially aggravated assault.

Hassan’s elder brother Manzoor Hassan, also known as Big Manny, was convicted and jailed for his role in the gang.

The two Hassan brothers lived together in Bland Street, Lockwood. If it was not for Little Manny being so young when he committed the offences, he would have been locked up for around 25 years. He will be eligible to apply for release on licence on June 7, 2027.

Mohammed Kammer, who was convicted of raping two girls and jailed for 16 years, is also appealing his sentence.

The 34-year-old former Class A drug user, previously of West View, Paddock, will be eligible to apply for release on licence on June 7, 2026.
