Store’s fuel 7p a litre more than it is at Leeds site
David Pounder, of Outlane, is outraged by the seven pence difference in the price of diesel between Sainsbury’s at the White Rose Centre in Leeds and Sainsbury’s at Shorehead in Huddersfield but it was convenient for me to fill up at the White Rose.
“I asked the men behind the tills at Shorehead to explain to me why it is such a lot cheaper at the White Rose Centre.
“They just said it’s probably because it’s a different area. Then one said he was at the White Rose Centre the other day and he saw the difference, and he was appalled as well.”
Mr Pounder said he was planning to contact Sainsbury’s customer services department with his feedback.
A spokesman for Sainsbury’s said: “We price our fuel locally and always aim to be competitive.”
In June the Examiner reported how there were queues at Sainsbury’s in Dewsbury as petrol was 7p a litre cheaper than Huddersfield.
