Pregnant woman hurt in raid
A MASKED man attacked a pregnant woman working in a shop during a cash robbery which turned violent.
West Yorkshire Police have confirmed Shillbank Stores at Shillbank Lane in Mirfield was raided by three masked intruders at 7.30pm on Friday.
A spokesperson for the store, who did not want to be named, said two female staff had been working in the premises and one, who is pregnant, was struck with a wooden attempted brazen raid.
The witness said the robber had a large piece of wood that was possibly from the banister of a staircase.
They said the female was slightly injured.
Police have not yet revealed many details but the Examiner understands that the contents of two tills were taken.
They have confirmed the terrifying incident left one victim with “minor injuries”.
The shop was sealed off with police tape and remains closed on Saturday.
Detectives from Kirklees CID are investigating.
They have not yet made an official appeal or revealed if anyone has been arrested.
A police spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing.
