Calendar is cat’s whiskers
FELIX the Huddersfield Station Cat is back with a new calendar for 2019 – and this time she is sharing the limelight.
Fans of the famous feline will know she gained a young apprentice in September, when an eightweek-old kitten by the name of Bolt joined the team.
Felix has graciously given Bolt the month of March on the 2019 calendar.
The rest of the months depict Felix at work in various locations around Huddersfield Station.
On Felix’s personal website the calendar is described as: “A purrfect collection of photos of Felix the Huddersfield Station Cat to take you through 2019!”
The calendar is available to order now and costs £8.99.
This year, just like two years ago, all the money raised will go to Huddersfield Station’s partnered charity, the Samaritans.
The Samaritans provide emotional support for anybody in distress, struggling to cope or at risk of suicide through a 24/7 telephone helpline.
National Rail works closely with the Samaritans to try to prevent suicides on the railway.
Huddersfield station manager Andrew Croughan chose the Samaritans as the beneficiaries of the money raised through Felix’s calendar.
He said: “We are very happy once again that the profits from Felix’s calendar will be donated to the Samaritans.
“They are a fantastic cause and we’re proud to be supporting the work they do alongside the rail industry in suicide prevention and support.”
