Fartown fest to welcome Soul II Soul
SOME of the biggest names in reggae, soul, 90s R’n’B and UK old school garage are coming to Huddersfield.
The second annual Love 4 Music festival will take place at The Pavilion on Spaines Road in Fartown on May Bank Holiday, 2019.
There will be two stages this time around, following on from a hugely successful inaugural event last year which saw thousands of people flock to the festival from as far away as London and Scotland.
Double Grammy award-winning soul band, Soul II Soul, will headline the main stage, with more than three decades of musical experience behind them.
The London-based collective, who have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, are most famous for their UK number one single, Back To Life (However Do You Want Me).
Joining them on the main stage will be the festival’s premier reggae artists, Chaka Demus and Pliers. The Jamaican duo are best known for their 1994 UK number one hit, Twist and Shout.
Headlining the second stage will be the Godfather of UK garage, DJ Spoony.
He will be presenting his UKG In Da House and Garage Experience Live shows. Both shows are an unrivalled line-up of live performances from the genre.
A third big name, hailing from the 90s R’n’B scene, is set to be announced in early 2019 along with the full festival line-up.
The one-day event will include a massive selection of international street food for revellers to enjoy.
It will run from noon to 9pm on Sunday, May 26, 2019.
Tickets go on sale from 9am tomorrow and can be bought online from Ticketmaster and Skiddle.
Early bird prices are £35 for the ticket only, £50 for a drinks and food inclusive package, or £125 for VIP passes.
