If you head back to Torquay, it’s well worth jumping on the train to Exeter for a walk around this attractive city with its impressive cathedral, which was founded in 1050.

Shaldon is also worth a visit. Get there by car or bus and enjoy its good restaurant­s and cafes. There’s also a walk up The Ness to Shaldon Zoo and check out Homelands gardens a walk up out of Shaldon with beautiful views over the Teign Estuary. Then catch the ferry over to Teignmouth where you’ll find independen­t shops, a lovely promenade, some good pubs and great beaches. A great day trip with kids. TRAVELODGE has put two million rooms on sale for £29 to help kick start the new year.

The hotel chain is offering the discount rate across its hotels nationwide, for stays during 2019.

The offer even includes all the school holiday dates, such as February half term, the Easter holidays, May half term, summer holidays and October and half term.

All 557 of Travelodge’s hotels have been modernised in the company’s new contempora­ry brand style.

Rooms feature king-size Travelodge Dreamer beds and individual beds for children in family rooms. There’s an on-site restaurant called the Bar Cafe in 180 of the hotels, offering a breakfast, dinner and bar menu.

The Unlimited Breakfast menu is £8.25 per person and unlimited lighter breakfast option is £5.95. For each paying adult two children eat for free.

Travelodge has also extended its bar menu with a wider range of aperitifs such as a gin menu, a broad range of red and white wines, prosecco and champagne.

The £29 room offer does not include SuperRooms and Travelodge PLUS locations. The offer is subject to availabili­ty, for stays from now until October 21, 2019.
