JONAS Lossl has called on his Huddersfield Town team-mates to continue to show the bravery and team spirit they have done in their recent Premier League outings ahead of a vital run of top-flight fixtures.

The Terriers were beaten 3-1 by Manchester United on Boxing Day, but put in a battling performance and created chances at Old Trafford against the 20-time top-flight champions.

And the Danish keeper is keen for Town to continue showing the same fight as they head into a run of three crucial Premier League clashes against relegation rivals Fulham, Burnley and Cardiff City.

He said: “We have two very important games coming up, not only one.

“Of course we look forward now to the one on Saturday against Fulham. It’s going to be a big game.

“We have to (have spirit), right? We have to.

“We earn the shirt, we are representing the club. We have to keep the spirit.

“That’s our job and it’s one of our strong sides. We have a good team and we go into every game with bravery and morale, so we’ll keep doing that.”

Town created a number of chances against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United on Wednesday, with Terence Kongolo going close to putting the Terriers in front early in the first half.

And, at 1-0, Spain No1 David De Gea produced an excellent save from Laurent Depoitre to keep the hosts’ lead in tact.

When asked whether the save changed the match, Lossl responded: “Yeah, definitely. Big fan and I told him afterwards.

“He’s great goalkeeper, it was a fantastic save.

“We didn’t score with a couple of small chances we had, and they did.

“Of course they had more chances, more possession than we had, but I think we did alright. I think we did a good game. We did our best.” DAVID Wagner has hinted he would like to add some clinical edge to the Huddersfield Town squad in the January transfer window.

But winger Rajiv van La Parra looks to be clearing the way for a move to Middlesbrough.

The head coach pointed to a handful of decent chances which went begging in the 3-1 Boxing Day defeat at Manchester United before Mathias Jorgensen grabbed a late consolation at Old Trafford.

It was a sixth successive defeat to leave Town bottom of the Premier HUDDERSFIELD Town were far from disgraced in their 3-1 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford. Here are some things we learned from events at Old Trafford: IT would have been hard to imagine, even a few short weeks ago, Town fielding a team without Aaron Mooy and Jonathan Hogg in the centre of midfield.

Apart from his one-match suspension, Philip Billing has become a fixture in there and deservedly so - his form being excellent for most of the season and his talent developing by the week.

At Old Trafford, head coach David Wagner opted to put Flo Hadergjonaj into midfield alongside Billing as the defensive midfield duo in a 4-2-3-1 formation. It allowed Elias Kachunga and Isaac Mbenza to provide wide options for No10 Alex Pritchard and striker Laurent Depoitre and, while Hadgergjonaj had a decent game, it is not his natural position.

Obviously, Hogg is on the verge of a return, having been named on the bench against United, but Mooy won’t be back until February by the looks of things and it could be Town need another central midfield option to strengthen their survival package in the second half of the season.

If Mooy, Hogg or Billing suffer further injury or suspension problems, then a strong option in the engine room would look essential, especially with Danny Williams suffering ongoing injury problems and Abdelhamid Sabiri recovering from surgery.

FEW were backing Town to upset the odds at Old Trafford, but it could have been a whole lot closer than it turned out to be.
