more goals than we have in recent weeks.

“The effort and the attitude the players have shown was fine, they really worked, but at the end we were not able to score again and that meant we were not able to win.”

Wagner again said he was not able to give an update on the January transfer window with regard to incoming signings.

“We need more than 30 minutes after the game to think about what to do and how to do it,” he said.

“For me at this time it’s not possible to think forward to the transfer window. It is too close to the final whistle.”

Meanwhile, Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri accused Kamara of disrespecting his team-mates, supporters and the club itself by ignoring instructions and taking the missed penalty. Kamara had scored from the penalty spot in the 4-1 defeat at Ma n c h e s t e r United, but the 67-yearold Ranieri was incensed that Kamara ‘thought only of himself ’ – and could yet drop him for something he insists he has never previously encountered.

“It is not possible to explain what happened after we got the penalty, or maybe I should say it is easy when a man thinks only of himself,” the Fulham manager

I think both teams lacked creativity, but just one situation decided the game

said. “It is not right. He didn’t respect me, the club, his teammates, the crowd. He took the ball, and just said ‘I want to shoot’. He didn’t listen to reason.

“I have spoken a little to him. I think he didn’t understand what I said. Mitrovic was the designated taker, but Kamara scored our last penalty and took it on himself, ‘I am the man’.

“He did not apologise, he just told me ‘I wanted to shoot’. I said to him ‘If the whole team just said I want to shoot, what would happen?’ It is impossible to speak to this man.

“He did not understand the reason; for him everything is fine, we won the match. It is unbelievable, the first time in my life I have seen that.

“You must respect the nominated taker. I hope he can understand, it is clearly difficult. I don’t know if that is it, if it is finished or if it will continue. Maybe I will take him away from the squad.” MIDDLESBROUGH boss Tony Pulis has spoken about the qualities of Rajiv van La Parra ahead of the Huddersfield Town winger’s proposed loan move to Boro.

The Dutchman was pictured on Teesside last week after reports had linked the 27-year-old with a season-long stint at the Riverside Stadium, and the Town promotionwinner was present at the ground on Saturday to watch the north east side claim a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town.

According to BT Sport, Van La Parra will undergo a medical at Boro this week.

When asked about the move after the weekend win, Pulis said: “It’s not done yet, but he’s an exciting player who’s got pace.

“I don’t think there’s any question of his pedigree, he’s got promoted out of this league with Wolves and Huddersfield.

“I spoke to Dean Whitehead, who was a good player for me at Stoke and is a great lad, and he’s given me a great recommendation on him as a person, not just as a player.

“Danny Batth has played with him, George Saville has played with him, so he’s got decent pedigree and good pace.

“That’s what we want. How close is it? I don’t get involved in that - it’s Neil [Bausor, chief executive] and the people upstairs.” HUDDERSFIELD Town striker Steve Mounie is adamant the Terriers will fight to the end for Premier League survival after their damaging defeat at Fulham.

The 1-0 loss, courtesy of a late Aleksandar Mitrovic strike, was Town’s seventh in a row in December, equalling a club record set in 1955.

It looked as though Jonas Lossl had rescued a point for the visitors after the Dane saved an Aboubakar Kamara penalty in the 80th minute, but a late counter attack finished by the Serbian striker broke Town hearts in the capital.

With Fulham one of Town’s direct rivals for relegation, Mounie told the club’s official website: “It’s a bit difficult for us and it’s hard to accept, but in this season there’s still some games and we will still fight until the end.

“We will try to win games; that’s the most important thing. We have to just try to win the first game then the second and the third. We have to keep going.

“A win will be very important for us, it’ll give a lot of confidence to our team and our fans.

“I feel like our fans need it because we haven’t given them enough this season.

“I am very disappointed because it was a very important game to lose, especially after the penalty save. It’s hard to accept.

“I hope (the supporters) will keep going because we need that, we need their full support until the end of the season.

“The dressing room is very sad with the result, but we have the quality to change these results.”
