This could end
E’S had quite the couple of years, has Bradley Walsh. Landing a top role in the new series of Doctor Who, storming success in The Chase, releasing the biggest-selling debut album by a British artist, holidaying with Phil and Holly and hanging out with rapper Stormzy.
Not bad for a 58-year-old former Bluecoat and Brentford reserve team player.
And now Bradders looks set to officially cement his national treasure status, with the news that he’s bagged himself an IT V travelogue series. You know you’ve made it when you get offered one of these.
Bradley has teamed up with his 20-year-old son, Barney, for an epic American road trip. Driving 2,000 miles from Los Angeles to New Orleans in a 36-foot RV, we might expect stunning scenery and some quality father and son bonding. But the clue to how this trip is likely to pan out is in the subtitle – Breaking Dad – as young Barney is determined to push his father right out of his comfort zone at every opportunity.
We’re talking alligator feeding, cowboy training, space simulators and sky diving.
At first, just navigating the motorhome proves tricky enough. Barney might have decked it out with his dad’s home comforts – Hob Nobs, Branston Pickle, an Arsenal duvet cover – but Bradley realises manoeuvring the beast isn’t exactly easy.
Although it soon seems like a walk in the park in comparison to a workout on Muscle Beach, or throwing himself out of a plane…
