AN interactive treasure hunt will take place around Huddersfield town centre.

The UK’s premiere interactive adventure game, GPShunts, will hit town on Sunday, January 13.

Players will follow a treasure hunt around the streets using an interactive map on their smartphone, tablet or GPS device.

Virtual clues have been left around the town but they may require a bit of cunning to figure out.

Secret agents on a mission can expect little challenges around cryptic clues, ciphers and logic puzzles.

The aim is to collect as many points as possible and the challenge must be completed within two hours.

There will be a real-time scoreboard so play- ers can monitor their progress.

Fancy dress is encouraged as well so expect to see some strange sights.

Prizes will be awarded for the highest scoring teams, best team photo and best fancy dress at the end of the day.

Peter Wilson, from GPShunts, revealed the spy mission would stop at several well-known spots around Huddersfield.

He said: “Without giving too much away, the hunt will visit locations like St George’s Square, the Market Cross, the Art Gallery as well as the main high street.

“Teams should be prepared to complete Ciphers, Logic Puzzles and a little bit of James Bond trivia thrown in.”

Entry costs £30 per team, and a team consists of up to six people.

Tickets can be bought online at GPShunts.co.uk until 1.30pm on the day of the event. Start times are from 10am to 2pm. The hunt is suitable for wheelchair users.
