Striker-turned-pundit sees Town going down...

goalkeeping coach Paul Clements said: “I’m delighted that we have secured this loan move to Notts County for Ryan, as it represents a vital next stage in his development to play league football.

“I’ve been lucky enough to work with a lot of talented young goalkeepers during my career and Ryan is right up there among them at his age. He’s had great experience in training with our first-team, with England and in non-league and this is the natural next step. He’ll come under pressure to perform for Notts County at a crucial stage of their season and it’s up to him to show what he’s capable of.”

As a result of Schofield’s move, Town have recalled goalkeeper Joel Coleman from his loan stint at Shrewsbury Town. MICHAEL Owen believes Town will suffer a 10th successive defeat in all competitions against Cardiff City this weekend.

Town head into tomorrow’s match desperate for points to boost hopes of another remarkable Premier League survival story come May – but the former Liverpool and England striker does not believe David Wagner’s side will earn anything in south Wales.

The BetVictor and BT Sport pundit predicts a 1-0 win for the hosts, which is priced up at 11/2 on BetVictor, compared to the 5/4 offered on a Cardiff win by any scoreline.

Town have been given odds of 11/4 to claim victory at the Cardiff City Stadium, while the draw is available at 85/40. In his weekly predictions column for BetVictor’s blog, Owen wrote: “Huddersfield have lost their last eight league games and I fear things are going to get worse before they get better for the Terriers when they visit south Wales at the weekend.

“The Bluebirds are unbeaten in their last 10 games against Town in all competitions.

“I feel they will gain a valuable three points in their bid to maintain their Premier League status in this game.”

Elsewhere, Owen believes Fulham and Burnley will draw at Turf Moor, while Southampton will also pick up a point at Leicester City.

That would leave the Terriers 11 points from safety at the bottom of the Premier League table and five points adrift of 19th-placed

Fulham.
