Opportunity to volunteer at big agricultural show
VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help make this year’s Mirfield Show a hit.
As many as 12,000 people attend the agricultural show in Huddersfield Road every August.
The show, on Sunday, August 18, will feature a host of agricultural and animal-based attractions alongside an array of food and craft stalls and a craft marquee as well as hand-made goods all produced in Yorkshire.
There will also be lots of competitions for all ages, from tug of war to banana-eating.
The show is organised by a team of dedicated volunteers and the committee is always on the look-out for new members and help during show weekend to help the event go smoothly.
Chairman of the committee, Jonathan Evans, said: “We are a friendly committee with a family ethos. We welcome all age groups and backgrounds and that’s why new and exciting ideas are always at the forefront in our planning.”
“Our show weekend volunteers are very important to us. There are always plenty of things to be done, so if you have two hours or two days to spare your support will always be appreciated. We promise it will be less daunting than you imagine!”
