Appeal over bike crash

MOTORCYCLI­ST, 20, INVOLVED IN COLLISION WITH CAR

A SERIOUS crash involving a motorcycli­st and a car is being investigat­ed by West Yorkshire Police.

Emergency services including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were called to the incident on Huddersfie­ld Road at Netherton on Saturday afternoon.

The collision involved a 20-year-old motorcycli­st, police have confirmed.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said emergency services were called at around 4.15pm.

Police officers were still at the scene several hours later.

The spokesman said: “We have been dealing with a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle.”

The injured party is a 20-year-old male.

The man was taken to hospital.

Informatio­n about his condition has not been released.

The police spokesman said officers were appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A large cordon was put in place by police to allow accident investigat­ors to carry out their work.

Cars were diverted onto Church Lane and Crosland Spring Road.

Anyone with informatio­n is asked to call West Yorkshire Police via 101.
