Thomas definitely not Meghan’s favourite

-

WHAT a song and dance about the departure of John Humphrys after 33 years of presenting Radio 4’s flagship Today programme!

Judging by the copious amounts of BBC air time and acres of newsprint this “news” has consumed, anybody think would it really matters.

The grand Welsh inquisitor, who is clearly more important than anyone he interviews, isn’t even going until the autumn. Until then, it’s Carry On Interrupting!

He admits: “I should have gone years ago.” Since he’s my age, I disagree. But he might have profited from a few lessons in humility.

One thing is for sure: his replacement won’t be Fiona Bruce. ENTERTAININGLY, the Meghan soap opera just keeps giving.

The Duchess of Sussex has now authorised five of her girlie-pack to talk to the Press about her distress over obstreperous Pa Markle.

Having put the phone down on Prince Harry and blundered all over the media, the grizzled 74-year-old seems to have cut his daughter off.

“He’s never called, he’s never texted. It’s super-painful,” a long- time friend told the US magazine People. “Meg was always so dutiful. She will always be devastated by what he has done.”

Palace officials must wish they had got him on board long before the Royal wedding, whatever the cost.

And he must rue the day he posed for fake paparazzi pics, starting this media feeding frenzy.

I think we can take it as read that if Meghan’s baby due in April is a boy, it won’t be called Thomas.
