Watch Town’s bright talent for free today

- By MEL BOOTH @examinerHTAFC

HUDDERSFIELD Town fans have chance to make use of the half-term holiday and see some of the best young talent on the club books.

That’s because the Terriers Under 17s play Fleetwood Town at PPG Canalside today in an 11.30am kick-off which is FREE for all supporters.

Leigh Bromby’s charges will tackle Fleetwood at the training ground, but on the back pitches, over the canal - the ones where the first team used to train before Town took control of the whole complex.

And it’s an opportunity for supporters to see Kian Harratt, who netted his 29th competitive goal of the season when the Young Terriers lost 3-1 to Oldham Athletic in the Under 18 Youth Alliance League last time out.

Harratt is the lad who, earlier in the season, scored a first-half hat-trick for the Under 17s and then swapped to the Under 19 match on the next pitch and bagged a brace.

This will be a third meeting of the season between Town and Fleetwood at this level.

They met twice in the Clarets Cup, a 1-1 draw being followed by a 3-1 win for Fleetwood in the semi-finals of the competition staged by

Burnley.

Harratt was on target in both those games and will be aiming to make it three successive matches against the Cod Army when his name is on the teamsheet.

The Under 17s were level with Oldham in their match at PPG until keeper Giosue Bellagambi was sent off in the second half.

He was replaced in goal by Seth Meeson, who can play in defence or midfield and doesn’t mind donning the keeper’s gloves if he has to!
