Tributes to ‘chief’ Danny
DEVASTATED FRIENDS REACT AFTER FUN-LOVING PAL, 39, FOUND DEAD
TRIBUTES have been paid to a man found dead in Mirfield as three people arrested over his death were released from custody.
Popular Danny Fennell, 39, of Dewsbury, was described by friends as “the chief of all chiefs.”
Danny’s body was found at a house in Hopton Avenue, Upper Hopton, after emergency services were called to reports of an “injured man” at 9.19am on Wednesday. Two men and a woman who were arrested on Wednesday have been released under investigation, police said.
A post mortem examination has been carried out and police are awaiting the results, a spokeswoman said.
The force is treating his death as “unexplained.” A police cordon was in place on Wednesday and Thursday, causing some disruption in the cul-desac. The spokeswoman added: “Police would like to thank the residents of Hopton Avenue whilst we have carried out enquiries there.”
Meanwhile, tributes to Danny have been flooding in from friends and loved ones devastated by his death.
Writing on Facebook, Gemma Toole said: “The chief of all chiefs! No one will ever come close to this guy. Absolute legend and loved by everyone.
“At such a sad time it’s been lovely to see everyone share stories and photos of him. He’s left a massive Fennell hole in our lives but left us all with our own memories shared with him.”
Ellen Trewartha said: “A lot of us are still in shock about this. He was such a joker and always made people laugh. He will be truly missed by many.”
Vanessa Yeoman added: “He’s clearly touched so many lives with that crazy humour of his. He definitely was a legend and I’m sure every single person who met him will have a story to tell. You’re going to be missed by so many.”
Scott Clarke posted: “Taken way too soon! Rest peacefully Danny Chief!”
And Stephen Walsworth said: “Rest in eternal peace and tranquillity mate.”
