Tots show bottle in dog poo protest

- By NICK LAVIGUEUR

TOTS sick of stepping in dog poo have joined the campaign to urge dog walkers to pick up their pet’s muck.

Children, aged from just one to six, have come up with a creative new way to take lazy dog owners’ excuses away.

They have designed and built dog poo dispenser bags out of old soft drink bottles.

The handmade dispensers have now been installed on lampposts around the village of Marsden.

The project was dreamed up by hairdresser Rebecca Higgins and Lisa Lancaster from the Magic Box toy shop.

Lisa said: “We asked the children of Marsden to help make doggy poo great response on the community Facebook page after she put up a post about her efforts.

Lisa wrote on the Marsden village group that : “Lola has been busy putting up her doggy poo bag dispensers all along Fall Lane and Carrs Road.

“This route is particularly bad and is outside the junior school.

“Please think before you leave your dogs mess, use a bag and pick it up.

“The children of Marsden are sick of standing in it and trailing it through school and home.

“Think and bin it!”

Villagers responded: “Well done Lola, great idea.

“Let’s hope it makes a difference.” “What a brilliant idea Lisa and Lola” and “What a fantastic job Lola! They look great!”
