VEGANS’ TASTY REVOLUTION
In recent years I settled for jeans and one M&S suit for special occasions with a leg width I tolerated, until I almost blew away at a funeral.
Skinny trousers do come with their own dangers and I have seen young gentlemen of girth wearing them thinking they look the bees knees but instead resemble a large lolly on a split stick.
Taking into account my age and redistribution of weight, I replaced my suit with a neat Ben Sherman jacket and a pair of slimline trousers. I may not look like a soccer pundit but at least I won’t blow away in the wind.
THE Vegan revolution continues. Greggs, the high street fast food shop, has had a sales boost after adding a vegan sausage roll to their hot and tasty snacks. My wife is a fan. Now Cadbury’s have made a vegan version of their famous Creme Egg.
What next?
Well, check the supermarket shelves. There is now plenty of choice of food, ready meals and drinks – from ice cream to chocolates to cheeses – to suit the taste of those who have decided not to eat foods that come from animals, including dairy products and eggs.
A vegan is one step beyond being a vegetarian and both are lifestyle choices that hold animals in respect.
I have yet to be converted but welcome the revolution. It provides different choices and tastes in shops and restaurants that anyone can try – even meat eaters like me.
