Fans encouraged by Town’s spirit and improvement
TOWN fans lauded the spirit of their team and some fine individual performances in the victory over Wolves.
Karlan Grant, Jon Gorenc Stankovic and Juninho Bacuna were picked out for their performances, in addition to Manchester City product Demeaco Duhaney for his debut display at right back.
Head coach Jan Siewert was also highlighted for his adventurous selection and attacking policy, which eventually paid off when Steve Mounie stabbed in the winner in stoppage time.
Here are a selection of views from supporters who contacted ExaminerLive:
VERY impressed with Town’s spirit and work rate.
New boy Grant looks a real prospect and Stankovic was man of the match.
IT’S a while since the team ran themselves as ragged as in this game.
Combine that with superlative individual performances from Stankovic and Grant and the team can hit the road running next season.
BOLD changes by the manager produced a much improved performance.
For me Grant is the best forward the club have signed in a long time and should be first name on team sheet.
Stankovic made a very good case for a regular start.
Energy and motivation much better.
WOW! 3 points for a change. An adventurous two-pronged attack with Mounie and Grant rewarded Town with a deserved victory.
A much-changed side from the weekend with Stankovic outstanding and Bacuna slotting in nicely at full back.
A clean sheet and signs of encouragement.
Would still like Mooy back in the starting line-up.
Pritchard was so lively and was a great link for the forwards and was my man of the match.
However, there was not that much to choose as the team played so well.
Great to see a debut at right back for Demeaco Duhaney and he played well.
The fact is there was fantastic hope for the future on this display and it does not need changing besides Mooy for Billing, although Billing played well Mooy just gave us that bit extra.
WHAT a change when we actually go and attack in numbers.
Even Hogg had a near-post header. Stankovic immense, stepping into midfield given the chance and a cracking debut for Duhaney, very promising.
Can we play Wolves every week to the end of the season?
