A DRUNK man called his partner a ‘scruffy little cokehead’ and sent her emojis of a dagger.

Mark Wigley bombarded her with threatening messages and smashed up her property when they fell out while having drinks with friends.

He said a ‘red mist’ came over him after he downed 14 pints of lager, four Desperados and a bottle of vodka.

Wigley, of Greenside Court in Mirfield, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and sending a communication conveying a threat.

Kirklees magistrates were told that the offences occurred on February 17. The couple were having drinks when Wigley walked towards the victim and started shouting at her.

He told her to “go suck a black man’s d***” and she asked him why he was behaving that way and tried to push him away.

Wigley, 34, tried to get to his partner but was held back by one of their friends.

He shouted at her calling her ‘a slag’ and ‘vermin’. The victim then left the address and got a phone call from her friend saying that Wigley had calmed down.

She got a taxi to a friend’s house where Wigley appeared at the window and pointed towards her calling her ‘a slag’.

Natalie Chapman, prosecuting, said: “He’s then called and texted her, calling her names such as a scruffy little cokehead and a slag via Snapchat and iChat.

“He sent her emojis of daggers and said: ‘I’ll rip your father’s head clean off ’.” Wigley then sent her pictures of him wrecking their house, with debris over the kitchen and causing damage to her vehicle.

The total cost of the damage was £1,500, magistrates were told.

Mark Mangano, mitigating, said that his client’s grandfather recently died and that brought up a lot of emotions which spilt over that evening.

He told magistrates: “He’d drunk too much – 14 pints of lager, four Desperados and a bottle of vodka.

“Whatever happened he took it completely the wrong way and took it out on his partner.

“The red mist came over him and he’s caused damage to the property and the car.

“He can’t explain why he’s done it and is remorseful for his actions.”

Wigley was sentenced to a 12 month community order with 25 rehabilitation activity days and 100 hours of unpaid work.

He was ordered to pay his victim £500 compensation for the damage caused.
