Siewert must add to Eddie’s away day blues

HUDDERSFIELD Town should take some confidence from their opponent’s shocking away form when they play Bournemouth at the John Smith’s Stadium today.

The Cherries have lost their last nine away games in the Premier League, with their last victory away from the Vitality Stadium coming against relegationthreatened Fulham on Saturday, October 27.

Eddie Howe’s side sit 12th in the Premier League on 34 points - eight places and 20 points above Jan Siewert’s Terriers.

But if the division was ordered on away form alone they would be down in 16th and taken only nine points all campaign.

By contrast, if only home form was taken into account they would be pushing for a European spot in seventh, just three points behind Tottenham Hotspur.

Howe (pictured) has assured fans their poor travelling form will come to an end sooner or later.

Speaking after their latest defeat away from home - a 5-1 drubbing by Arsenal - the 41-year-old manager said: “It hasn’t been enjoyable at all and I speak on behalf of the players for that.

“Results have to change, they will at some point but we are giving everything to put things right.”

After beating Wolves to end their own poor run of 16 games without a win of any kind, Town will be hoping Howe’s prediction doesn’t come true at the John Smith’s.
