Appeal after gang of four attack man with a knife

DETECTIVES are appealing for informatio­n following a knife attack on a man in his 60s.

The incident happened on Tuesday this week at around 10pm on the footpath just off Ball Royd Road, just off Fartown Green Road in Fartown.

Four suspects approached the victim, who is in his 60s, as he was walking on the footpath.

One of the suspects, suddenly without warning, assaulted the victim by slashing his face with what is believed to be a knife.

The victim suffered wounds to his face and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

All of the suspects fled the scene. They were described as Asian males wearing dark clothing.

It follows several knife-related incidents in the Huddersfie­ld area in recent months.

Earlier this month police found six knives in a car after five men were arrested over a street attack in Newsome.

On Monday, February 11, a young man was stabbed in the stomach on Wood Street in Huddersfie­ld town centre.
