A JEALOUS man demanded to know if his partner was with a another man and threatened: “I’m going to kill everyone in this house!”

Karlton Cummings stormed round to the victim’s Lowerhouses home and tried to get into the frightened victim’s property, Kirklees magistrates were told.

He appeared at the court via a prison link from HMP Armley and pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Vanessa Jones, prosecuting, said that the couple had known each other for three years having met through a mutual friend.

The 40-year-old then went to prison and upon his release asked to be located in the Huddersfield area to be near to the victim because of their relationship.

This was volatile and police were called out to them five times previously, although no further action was taken because she did not support the prosecution.

Then on March 13 police received a 999 call from the victim who said that Cummings was at her Hall Cross Road home.

Mrs Jones said: “She was there with her son and a friend.

“Cummings was banging on the windows and demanding her to open the door.

“She didn’t because she was scared due to previous difficulties. He shouted: ‘You’ve got another man in there’.

“He tried to get the door open and was shouting: ‘’I’m going to kill everyone in this house - open the ******g door!’”

Magistrates were told that at one stage Cummings, of Clare Hill in Huddersfield, threatened to damage the windows.

Paul Blanchard, mitigating, said that his client was invited round to the address but then refused entry.

He told magistrates: “He denied making the threats to kill but did swear and use unpleasant language.”

The court heard that Cummings has been in custody since his arrest earlier this month.

Mr Blanchard said that in 2009 he got a restraining order in relation to a different woman but has never breached that.

Magistrates gave Cummings a two year conditional discharge, meaning that he will not be punished if he stays out of trouble during this period.

They made a restraining order banning him from contacting the victim or going to her home for two years.
