NEWSOME went top of division 1 after a 4-2 win at Diggle with goals from Hill (two), Thorpe and Jordan.
Substitute Bainbridge (two) replied for Diggle. Goals from McAliskey (two) and Shooter helped Berry Brow move up to second after a narrow 3-2 win over Fothergill and Whittles.
Linthwaite dropped down to third and dropped two points at home in a 1-1 draw with Skelmanthorpe. Beaumont scored for the home team and Howson for the away team.
Neighbours Slaithwaite ground out a 1-0 home win over Shepley with a goal from Wilkins.
Holmbridge made the short journey to Scholes – goals from Langfield, Thorpe (two) and Carr took the points in a 4-1 win.
In division 2 only Netherton and AFC Lindley remain with 100 per cent records. Nick Walsh scored a hat-trick at Hepworth in Lindley’s
3-1 win.
Burchael, Jepson, Vickerman and Rushworth saw Netherton home in a narrow 4-3 win over Kirkheaton.
Holme Valley Academicals remain rooted at the bottom of the table after a 4-0 loss away at Junction whose goals came from Holroyd (two) and Stephenson (two). Goals from Parker (three), Smith and Calvert saw Shelley take the points at Britannia in a 5-2 win. Green and Roberts scoring for the home side.
A 70th-minute goal from Jamie Keenan took the points back to Lepton in a 1-0 win away at Almondbury Woolpack.
Meltham went top in division 3 with a 7-0 hammering away at Dewsbury Town with goals from Foster (three), Carmody and super sub Ellis-Pownall (three).
Sporting CAV moved up to third with a 7-0 win over bottom side Brook Motors with goals from Wojciechowski (three), Nick Reaks (two), Dyer and Mason.
Huddersfield YM also won 7-0 away at Hade Edge, with goals from Creighton (two), Jaber, McLeod, Sylvester, Fitzpatrick and Dunne.
Kirkburton went one better in an 8-0 away win at Moorside, with goals from Toulcher and Sattar ad with Boustead, Ianzito and Williams all scoring two each.
Division 4 new boys Marsh Athletic opened their account with a 6-2 away win over Brighouse Athletic with goals from Ratcliffe (two), Crosse (two), Hunt and Piercy.
Moorside went top of reserve division 1 in a high scoring 8-4 win over Heywoods Irish Centre.
Moorside’s goals came from Mather (three), Adams (two), Smith (two) and Wood while Heywood’s goals came from Helliwell, Jagger, Dyson and Turibamwe. Britannia lie second after a 7-2 away win at Shelley. Senior scored two for the home team while Britannia’s goals came from Franklyn (two), O’Hara (two), Annoville, Parkin and Simpson.
In reserve division 4 there are several new reserve and A teams, and Kirkburton Reserves had a 7-0 win over Netherton A with goals from Goring (two), Manning (two), Dunstan and sub Woods (two).
Deighton A are a team of 16-yearolds and their dads who opened their account with a 4-2 over Mount Reserves with goals from Rowe (two), Goodhall and Taylor. Mount’s Byrne and Oldfield netted.
