Our MP’s angry words spoke for many of us

-

WELL said Barry Sheerman in the newly triumphantly assembled House of Commons.

His furious red-faced attack on the bumptious overweening arrogance of the Attorney General Geoffrey Cox was straight from the heart and he spoke for the frustrations of many in clear statements free from the legalese of lawyers.

I have not always agreed with our MP but on this unbelievable occasion in Parliament Barry’s short angry speech spoke for ordinary folks! Huddersfield.

Still, if they put a rabbit up for Labour the rabbit would win.

Sinister remain web surrounds Britain

IN giving Judgement on prorogation Lady Hale wearing a large spider, showed what a sinister tangled web now surrounds Britain.

Someone said, “If voting changed anything they would abolish it”.

But in the end there will be an election and democracy will wipe out the remainers, and our country will be a free and sovereign nation once again.

College Association closes down

AT a special meeting of the Old Greenheadians Association on Tuesday, September 17 it was regretfully decided to wind up the group after many years’ existence.

This is because the remaining few committee members are stepping down and, in spite of several appeals for new, younger people to take over, this has not happened.

The remaining funds will be passed onto Greenhead College to continue to pay for prizes awarded by the college.

On behalf of the committee I would like to thank all of you who have faithfully supported the annual supper over the years.
