It’s seven heaven for Moorhouse in Flockton victory!
THERE were several fine individual displays in the league this week as the goals flowed.
The standout performance goes to Spencer Moorhouse in Flockton’s 8-4 win over Marsh Athletic.
Seven goals from him and an eighth from Hepworth sealed the win for Flockton.
Marsh’s goals came from Boswell, Carter, Hawkyard and Wood. The win put Flockton top of division 4.
Elsewhere in the division a hat-trick from Hodgson and goals from Essien and Morris earned Mount a 5-3 win at Brighouse Athletic. Gibson scoring all three for Brighouse. Uppermill won the M62 derby with Cleckheaton 4-3 while Cartworth Moor beat Almondbury Athletic 3-0 with goals from Boyle, Chapman and Killock.
Meanwhile in division 1, Honley went top with a 10-0 hammering of Newsome. Brett (four), Lindley (three), Sykes, Dyson and Foster.
Linthwaite moved up to third beating second placed Berry Brow 3-2 with goals from Morley, Taylor and Wadsworth. Brennan and Oakes scoring for the Brow.
Diggle remain rooted at the bottom losing 4-1 at home to Shepley. Haigh, Seal, Sylvester and Walters scoring for Shepley. Scholes with goals from Mayo, Thompson and Saville (two) comfortably beat Skelmanthorpe 4-1.
Nathan Eastwood claimed all six goals in Heywood Irish Centre’s 6-1 win over Fothergill and Whittles.
In division 2 AFC Lindley retain top spot with a 2-0 win over Netherton with goals from Clay and Maywand. Holme
Valley Academicals stay bottom but narrowly lost 3-1 away to Almondbury Woolpack. Woolpacks goals came from Allert and Wood (two). Dalton Dynamos thumped Hepworth 5-1 with goals from McCaffertySmith (two), Milby, Boyle and McMinn. Lepton lost 4-2 at home to Britannia Sports. Keenan scored both for Lepton and Kitson (two), Roberts and Stansfield scored for Britannia.
In the Sheffield Junior Cup McCrow scored a hat-trick as Cumberworth beat neighbours Hade Edge 6-2. Cumberworth’s other goals came from Seatan (two) and Spring.
Meltham’s Foster achieved a five-goal haul in a 6-2 win over Brook Motors, with Ellis-Pownall scoring the sixth. Martin and Brice scored for Brooks. The Mayall brothers scored two each as Grange Moor Saints beat Moorside 4-2. Evans scored both for Moorside.
In reserve division 1 Britannia Sports moved up to second place in an 8-2 win over AFC Dalton while Linthwaite did the double over Berry
Brow in a 3-1 win with goals from Conheeney, Smith and McReadie.
In reserve division 2 Junction stay top despite losing 3-0 to Deighton whose goals were scored by Hirst, Price and Pearson. Holmbridge beat
Holme Valley Academicals 6-1 whilst Brook Motors drew with Scholes 2-2.
Britannia Sports A kept up their 100pc record to top reserve division 3 with a 3-1 win at Cumberworth. Grange Moor Saints as they beat Scholes 5-3.
Kirkburton stay top by beating Linthwaite A 5-1 with goals from Goring, Marples, Woods (two) and Dunstan whilst Mount won 4-1 away at Netherton A with goals from Byrne (three) and Jabbi.
