SPORT CAMPBELL IS ONE HULL OF A SIGNING! HOME SWEET HOME
COWLEY DESPERATE TO GIVE FANS A WIN AT JOHN SMITH’S AFTER FINALLY CLAIMING VICTORY ON ROAD AT STOKE
DANNY Cowley says he is driven by the desire to see Town fans celebrating a home victory.
Ideally, he would like that to be against Hull City today, although he is mindful of the threat posed by Grant McCann’s visiting Tigers.
Cowley, his staff and players celebrated long and hard with the 922 fans who travelled for the midweek 1-0 victory over Stoke City – and now he would love to see the John Smith’s Stadium rocking to three points.
“It was great for our travelling fans to be able to see a victory with us and we know we have had pretty much 20,000-plus at home all season,” said Cowley.
“They deserve to see a victory as well – and we have spoken about that – even though I am sure they were supporting us from back in Huddersfield the other night.
“It would be really nice if they could see a win with their own eyes and feel they have contributed, because they deserve it. The support for this club has been amazing. The way they have gone from disappointment to disappointment without losing enthusiasm has been really special, and we are aware of that. I go to bed every night with that at the forefront of my mind and it drives me and the rest of the group every day.
“We want to bring some success here and hopefully get smiles back on faces.”
Cowley is hoping Alex Pritchard and Terence Kongolo will be back from injury to face Hull. “We are hopeful both will be available, they have been on the grass, and we would certainly like them back in the squad because they are two really important players,” said Cowley.
“If we could have them back in the group then that would be a big plus. Everyone at the football club knows the quality that those two bring, and they would definitely add to what we have.”
