KAMIL Grabara goes into an international double header confident Huddersfield Town are on the up under new boss Danny Cowley.

The Liverpool loan goalkeeper has kept successive Championship clean sheets against Stoke City and Hull City as Town have moved out of the relegation zone. It’s form he is HUDDERSFIELD Town loan man Aaron Mooy headed off on international duty with the praise of Brighton boss Graham Potter ringing in his ears.

The 29-year-old midfielder is on a season-long loan with the Premier League club, having signed a new three-year deal with Town before hoping to maintain against Russia today and Serbia on Tuesday in European Under-21s Championship qualifiers for Poland.

And he believes the new management team at the John Smith’s Stadium – manager Danny and assistant Nicky Cowley – are proving they can continue to turn the club’s fortunes around.

“The Cowleys have come in and we have got some results - and hopefully we can keep the run going and get more points,” said the 20-year-old.

“If you come into an environment that isn’t the greatest in terms of results then they can have a big impact on the football.

“You need to be positive to have that influence on the football and the dressing room, so I think they are doing well.”

Grabara is content with the recent defensive stability which has seen them keep successive clean sheets against Stoke a and Hull.

“There are 46 games in the Championship, so if you expect to have the same back line every game then you will be wrong,” he explained.

“For me As a defence we need to influence the people in front of us and give them a base to win

the game

it doesn’t make a display in the 3-0 defeat of Tottenham.

It was the perfect way for Mooy to head off to join up with Australia, who had a World Cup qualifier against Nepal in Canberra yesterday before travelling to Chinese Taipei for another on Tuesday.

Of Mooy’s display against Spurs,

Potter said: “I difference, all the boys have the quality to play in this league - we just need to find a path together.

“As a defence we need to have an influence on the people in front of us and give them a good base to win the game.”

Grabara says there is a competitive work ethic among the keepers at Town and he’s enjoying working alongside Ryan Schofield and Joel Coleman under the guidance of coach Paul Clements.

“It is a big part of the goalkeeper lifestyle that you need to have good partners in the training, but they also need to be your rivals and they need to push you,” he said.

“I could say all the easy stuff like they help me etc, but we all know thought it was his best performance. I don’t want to speak too much about individuals because I thought collectively we were fantastic, from Maty Ryan up to Neal Maupay and Aaron Connolly.

“But I was pleased for Aaron Mooy. “He gave us a good balance, a tactical understanding.

“He played in little pockets, got in spaces and he contributed to a really good performance.”
