Parish climate activists could be world first

-

Another nail in the coffin for the town centre. Might as well grass the town centre over, as we’ll be surrounded by supermarkets. Town centre shops (talk of which the council want to renovate) might as well shut now. Where’s the incentive to carry on?

51; 75;

66; THE activists supported by the the Holme Valley Parish Council, Laura Tarlo-Ross and the steering group are missing a terrific publicity opportunity (

They should announce that they will be the first to set an example to the world by signing a pledge to never use those means of transport that fly in the air or cruise the seven seas.

They could then invite the media to a public burning of the activists passports. As Mr Queening said, you can really start something by individual action.

So it’s over to you to be the first. I wonder how many of those banging drums and causing mayhem in London truly believe and will follow in this fine public-spirited action. me, if I had the choice again it would be out. The childish games being played by Remainer MPs, the attempts to thwart Brexit by any means.

A speaker who certainly isn’t impartial on the subject, Barry Sheerman nearly having a brain haemorrhage whilst screaming and shouting.

Labour MPs singing The Red Flag in the House...shades of things to come, if Corbyn and his cronies get in to power.

The European Union being run by France, Germany and Brussels, proving that none of the other EU countries are considered in the negotiations.

Back to the Remainers, who passed a bill preventing Boris Johnson from leaving without a deal. They scream because he refers to it as the Surrender Bill but it’s okay to call it the Benn Act. It’s neither, it’s just an Act of Parliament, but a cowardly act in an attempt to stop Brexit.

Labour has twice refused a General Election but I truly hope that all the MPs who have voted against the wishes of their constituents will be voted out when we do have a General Election.

Are you listening Sheerman? Finally, I’ve just realised, Sheerman only goes for headlines but it must be his agent in Huddersfield who phones to tell him. Why? Because our MP is never here. POLITICIANS claim to provide something, but don’t appear to know what the blithering blazes they’re doing when it comes to delivering it.

They started up a State pension scheme, but never created or invested a fund to pay for it.

They allowed mass immigration for decades and ignored every research study pointing out the dangers.

They took the best State education system in the world and trashed it on the basis of insane ideas about fairness.

They wasted the biggest undersea oil find in our history, sold our gold for a pittance, ravaged our manufacturing and energy output model.

Turned their backs on fiscal egalitarianism, swapped one bunch of wreckers (the Unions) for another (the bankers), led us into the experimental EU which has empire aspirations.

Went hell-for-leather into wind power that studies showed was both unreliable and expensive, followed a US foreign policy that cost us a fortune.

Allowed politically correct models to remove any and all creativity from the mass of our children, took the multinational media shilling, ignored the people’s will in 2016 and then started demolishing the constitution brick by brick in an attempt to wriggle out of something they didn’t like.

But here’s the thing; they have had very little difficulty in persuading fully half the population that they’re only acting in our best interests. And that tells you rather more about the 48% than it does about the political class.
