‘We are looking better but still some work to do’

- By MEL BOOTH @examinerHTAFC

HUDDERSFIELD Town fans have had their say on the performance against Barnsley.

Most concede it wasn’t the greatest, but also that the 2-1 victory was vital to get Town moving up the table before two very difficult away games...

Bad conditions for both teams once again. O’Brien is showing great endeavour - a great prospect. And Grant is a superb finisher. Hope we can hold onto him.

Brown is getting better game by game, what a find.

Simpson has been a huge signing and well done to the Cowleys for changing a team who had no confidence and looked doomed under Siewert.

Three welcome points from the Yorkshire derby. Not a classic performance from Town. Hogg more instrumental and O’Brien prominent again.

Great strike from Grant. Kachunga has to hit the target more consistently.

Two tough away games coming up hoping to extend unbeaten run.

Two very good goals, although Barnsley tried very hard to get back in the game and gave us a nervy last 15 minutes.

Six games unbeaten is a good run and the team are improving.

Overall, looking better but still some work to do. Impressed by the work of Hogg and O’Brien in the middle.

It took the team an age to match Barnsley’s aggression but once they did they could have won by more.

That’s 12 points from six games. Two points a game is promotion/ play-off form – and I don’t think they’ve played that well in any of the six games.

They’ll need to play better in the next two games to continue the unbeaten run.

A good win but a very error-strewn performance in which both sides showed why they are struggling at the foot of the table.

Two pieces of quality won the day for Town but a big improvement is needed as they face two extremely losable away games.

Much improved from the Boro game – better defence at set-pieces and after a nervous opening spell, attacked with more pace.

When the game opened up more in the second half, Town could have been out of sight if we’d taken the golden chances.

Firstly, let’s look at matches unbeaten, don’t think this would have happened under Jan.

Secondly, what diamonds have we discovered in Lewis and Jaden, not a great deal of league experience between them, but have been brilliant in how they have adapted in trying circumstances. The Cowleys will sort it just have patience.
