Town striker is GR-EIGHT say fans after home victory
TOWN fans rated match-winner Karlan Grant as the best player on the pitch at Griffin Park during the Terriers’ excellent 1-0 win over Brentford.
Supporters rated Grant at 8.3/10 for his showing – only the second time this season that they have given an 8 or above to any player.
A further seven players were given at least a 7/10 after Town extended their unbeaten run to seven games, and three of the performances – Grant, Christopher Schindler and Lewis O’Brien – were good enough to enter the top ten individual performances of the season based on aggregated player ratings from the Examiner, the fans, and Whoscored.com.
■THE signed, unwashed, matchworn shirts from Town’s 1-0 win over Brentford are being auctioned off to raise further funds for the Royal British Legion.
Last week an auction of the shirts worn against Barnsley were sold for a grand total of £4,206.
The shirts – grass stains, mud and all – for all 14 players who appeared against the Bees are up for auction right now at Matchwornshirt.com/poppy, with Lewis O’Brien’s currently leading the bidding at £190. The four shirts that were prepared for Town’s unused substitutes are also available to bid for.
The Legion provides financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants.
TOWN goalkeeper Kamil Grabara explained that the Terriers’ gameplan in their 1-0 win over Brentford on Saturday depended on the side not showing their in-form opponents undue deference.
After Town’s poor start to the season and even an unbeaten run of six against a clutch of out-of-sorts opponents, you could understand if Danny Cowley’s side had felt somewhat tentative away from home against a side that had scored nine goals and taken nine points across their previous three games.
