Hail Sezer as HGSA welcome Giants star!

-

FIRST of all a correction from the Fans Forum report.

All Reserve, Academy, Scholarship, and Women’s matches will not be shown live but they will be shown in full some time after the matches have ended.

And now an apology to those of you who were expecting the Legends Bar to be open as normal for Jerry’s testimonial game. That is what we were expecting. We were only informed about the 2pm opening on the Friday before.

However, normal service will be resumed for the rest of the season. So, for the Leeds game the bar will be open from 1 o’clock.

For those of you who are not keen on the keg beers on sale, there are now two bottled beers available.

On Tuesday, January 21, we shall have our marquee player, Aidan Sezer, as our guest. So let’s give one of the biggest names in the NRL a huge welcome to the UK. Please note the earlier start time of 7pm as Simon Woolford has told Aidan he has to have an early night due to there being a game at Wakefield the following day.

Two weeks later, on February 4, Dave Parker will be returning to give the lowdown on all that he didn’t have time to tell us last year.

He has promised us an entertaining and insightful evening!

Due to the increasing popularity of our meetings at Turnbridge, we are introducing a policy of making these events for members only. Non-members can turn up on the night but they will be expected to join HGSA. It is only £5 after all.

The more teams that enter our Quiz Night at the Shoulder Of Mutton, Lockwood, (Saturday, February 8) the greater will be the prize money given away. 50pc of what we take in will be given back out in prizes.

There will also be a Sop Supper available for a small, additional cost [a vegetarian option will be available].

This event is open to one and all but must be booked in advance. As there is only space for a few more teams, contact Nathaniel at events@GiantsSupporters.co.uk or on 07794 532 646 ASAP.

We are planning to have a meal at the Blue Tiger in Honley, provisionally on April 15th. Full details will be published in the near future. This will be open to members and their families.

You have all seen the seats and the pitch at the stadium, but how many of you have seen the nooks and crannies contained within the structure?

For those of you who would like to know more about the interior, we shall be having a trip around the stadium sometime in May.

Keep reading this column and Trevor’s e-mails for details.

Another event to whet your appetite will take place on September 6.

We shall be having a trip to

York Races for their Family Day Races.

Again, full details will be circulated in the very near future. And on the Giants front?

Join us for the first reserve team match at Lockwood Park on February 1.
